DESCRIPTION:Anthony Weiss\, Senior Director for the Critical Materials Crossroads at UMKC\, will speak to the group about this effort currently being discussed for Lake City Ammunition Plant. In his role\, Tony specializes in co-leading the CMC team with technical expertise in engineering process and composition of matter improvements as well as workforce development. Anthony has been part of the CMC team since 2023 and has helped lead them to advance as a finalist for the National Science Foundation Regional Innovation Engines Program\, an award of up to $160 million. Prior to joining the CMC\, he worked for Black and Veatch as a Performance and Optimization Engineer. \n\n\n\n\n\nThe Purpose of the Legislative Task Force is to:\n\n\n Study local\, state and federal legislative issues of interest to businesses\n Encourage information sharing about business and community issues among the membership.\n Stay alert to issues that will affect our members and the business community and make recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding such issues.\n\n\nThis is event is limited to 20 attendees\, therefore *REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED TO ATTEND*
