Department of Labor Overtime Pay Ruling Update

The Department of Labor finally issued the new Overtime Rule on Tuesday, September 24, 2019. The rule will take effect on January 1, 2020. This new ruling will set the minimum salary threshold for the Fair Labor Standard Act's white collar exemptions at $684 per week, or $35,568 per year. Employers with salaried employees should be prepared to adjust their pay practices.
This session is presented by Lauren Sobaski, an attorney at the employment law firm Fisher Phillips in Kansas City, MO. Lauren focuses her practice on employment discrimination and related litigation, employment law training, drafting policies and procedures, and wage and hour law. Prior to engaging in the practice of law, Lauren spent 15 years in human resource management. This experience gives her a unique insight into the employment law matters that are most important to her clients.
