The Department of Labor finally issued the new Overtime Rule on Tuesday, September 24th, 2019. The rule will take effect on January 1st, 2020. This new ruling will set the minimum salary threshold for the Fair Labor Standard Act’s white-collar exemptions at $684 per week, or $35,568 per year. Employers with salaried employees should be prepared to adjust their pay practices.
