Mover

A Contractor Mover provides on-call, flexible moving support for residential and commercial clients. This role is responsible for safely loading, unloading, transporting, and handling customer belongings with care while maintaining a professional, respectful presence on every job. Contractors may use their own vehicle or work as part of a team, and they must be able to follow instructions, communicate clearly, and uphold company standards for safety, efficiency, and customer service. Contractor Movers represent the company on-site and are expected to deliver a smooth, stress-free experience for customers. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy physical work, problem-solving, and independent contracting with flexible scheduling. Key Responsibilities - Customer Interaction — Provide friendly, respectful service; communicate clearly with clients about job details, timelines, and handling instructions. - Loading & Unloading — Safely lift, carry, and move furniture, boxes, and large items; use proper techniques to prevent damage or injury. - Furniture Protection — Wrap, pad, and secure items using blankets, straps, shrink wrap, and other protective materials. - Equipment Operation — Operate dollies, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and—if applicable—tow or drive moving vehicles or trailers. - Route Navigation — Follow GPS directions, plan efficient routes, and ensure timely arrival to job sites. - Team Coordination — Work collaboratively with other movers and drivers to complete jobs safely and efficiently. - Problem Solving — Identify challenges (tight spaces, heavy items, stairs) and find safe, effective solutions. - Safety Compliance — Follow all company safety protocols, lifting guidelines, and equipment-handling procedures. - Vehicle Use (If Applicable) — Contractors using their own truck may tow U-Haul U-Box trailers or transport items; must maintain a clean, reliable vehicle. - Job Documentation — Record hours, mileage, damages, and job notes accurately for invoicing and payroll.
